I live in Russian River wine country north of San Francisco, where artists have a plethora of scenes to paint "en plein air": the rugged California coast, giant redwood forests, fog-shrouded valleys, brightly colored kayaks lined up on beaches, rolling hills covered in livestock and vineyards.
